A significant milestone for Tanzania and Africa was reached on January 29, 2025: the signing of the contract for the construction of the Tanzania SGR – Bay Railway Line. This major project, which will revolutionize the country’s infrastructure, is an impressive example of successful international cooperation and diplomatic skill.
The Role of DMPP and its Network
A crucial factor in the realization of this project was the support of the international lobbying organization Diplomatic Mission Peace and Prosperity (DMPP). Thanks to its global network and the tireless commitment of its chairman, Mr. Uwe Zirbes, DMPP was able to build a bridge between the Tanzanian Ministry of Transport, led by Minister Professor Makame Mbarawa, and the Chinese CCCC Dredging Group.
In particular, the recommendation and mediation of the Chinese company by Mr. Zirbes and Mr. Dhammarut Khiaokaeo, Chief Executive Officer Senior Advisor of CCCC Dredging Group, proved to be decisive. Mr. Dhammarut Khiaokaeo expressly thanked Mr. Uwe Zirbes on behalf of the Chinese government and the participating companies, China Railway Engineering Group Corporation (CREGC) and China Railway Design Corporation (CREDC), for the exceptional contributions of the DMPP.
A Win for Tanzania and Africa
The Tanzania SGR – Bay Railway Line Project is far more than just an infrastructure project. It is an engine for economic and social progress throughout the region. Minister Professor Makame Mbarawa emphasized that the ongoing SGR projects in Tanzania have already created over 30,000 jobs and generated over 350 billion TZS in revenue.
The new railway line will facilitate trade, boost tourism and improve the quality of life for people in Tanzania. It is a symbol of successful cooperation between Africa and China and shows how international partnerships can lead to sustainable development.
Diplomacy as the Key to Success
The successful realization of this project is a testament to the importance of diplomacy in promoting humanitarian development. With its commitment, the DMPP has shown how international lobbying, and networks can help to implement significant projects for the benefit of people.
